3 Ways To Move On From Regrets

Regrets Are Life Lessons – 3 Ways To Move On

I wish … what if … maybe someday …

“According to research at Concordia University in Montreal, the emotional distress of regrets can disrupt your hormonal and immune systems, particularly if you are 65 or older, which can lead to colds, headaches — or worse.” AARP

Happiness is a choice.  So don’t let you laying on your death bed be the time you wish you had done things differently in your life.  Maybe it was pursing your dreams and ambitions, or not working so hard,  or staying more in touch with your friends and family members,  or not worrying so much, or not traveling enough, or putting off saying how you really feel.

So before you let regrets get the best of you, make those changes in your life RIGHT NOW AND CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY !!  Regrets are a life lesson and here are the 3 Ways To Move On from Any Regrets You May Have

  1. PRACTICE THE POSITIVE –  When you start to focus on regrets, look at the bright side  on what you’ve done. Did you learn anything? Did you gain wisdom out of that situation?  Always look for the silver lining and embrace it.
  2. ACCESS YOUR ACTIONS –  Sometimes it’s good to go back and assess what you’ve done.  Maybe you’ll find  that there wasn’t anything else you could have done, and reaffirm to yourself that your actions were OK.  Take  comfort in your actions.
  3. SET NEW GOALS – Let go of regret by finding something positive and meaningful to do.  By striving for other means that make you happy, like traveling, making new friends, or learning something new, you’ll find the regrets of the past will be smothered by your new choices of today.

As for me and my regrets, I wish I could honestly say that I have none – but I can’t.  My ONE only regret in life is that I had gone to college after high school,  earned a degree in a business related field, something I could fall back on when our children flew the nest.  Would I be happier today?  Maybe.  But by confronting this regret, it makes it easier for me to focus on what I truly love doing today ~ and it’s right here on the blog.  HAPPINESS IS A CHOICE AND MY CHOICE IS TO BE HAPPY 🙂
