INGREDIENT BENEFITS

Rhubarb – the stalks are rich in antioxidants that have anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer properties; are a great source of Vit K and magnesium; are low in saturated fat and sodium, and promotes detoxification and its power of astringency to diminish discharges of mucus or blood
Pears – contains sorbitol, which is a non-digestible form of sugar that can cause a quick bowel movement; also has a high water content which helps keep stools soft and flushes the digestive system of toxins

Detox with a Rhubarb Pear Smoothie

Ingredients
2 Rhubarb stalks, chopped
1 Pear, seeds removed
1/2 c Strawberries, tops removed
1/2 c Coconut Milk
1 tsp Chia Seeds
1 tsp Honey

Instructions
Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Add ice for a thicker consistency. If you’re not using a high-powered blender, you can steam the rhubarb stalks first for only 4-5 minutes. Let them cool and then add to your blender with the rest of the ingredients.
