Questions and Answers for CBD

CBD Oil – What are the Benefits and Uses. First of all, let’s answer the question …
WHAT IS CBD?
Plain and simple – CBD is short for cannabidiol. It is just one of several different molecules known as cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. They are what are used in making the oils, creams, tinctures and serums.

I just want to add before going any further, that as a caregiver, I can attest the CBD oils and ointments work. I’ve applied the ointments directly on sore joints and muscles for my patients, who in turn get relief within 30 minutes. They love the products and how it eases their pain. That being said …

WHICH CBC OIL SHOULD I USE – OILS WITH or WITHOUT THC (tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) – the part of the cannabis plant that gets you high). There are a few types of CBD oils that you can get today – ones with a trace amount of THC or ones without.

cbd ointments

FULL SPECTRUM will contain THC in trace amounts – .3% so there is no psychoactive effect from taking the CBD products – you WILL NOT get high
BROAD SPECTRUM – lacks THC, but they do contain other cannabinoids and cannabis compounds like terpenes (aromatic compounds that may have therapeutic benefits) and flavonoids (naturally found is different plants that may also have therapeutic benefits).
CBD ISOLATE – contain just the single CBD compound by itself. However, these products are considered to have inferior efficacy when compared to full spectrum CBD products

OINTMENTS vs TINCTURES
CBD Ointments, Lotions and Balms are a safe, easy-to-use topical agent that can be applied to almost any bodily area to relieve pain full joints and other problems like soreness, inflammation, and irritated skin. Effects are usually felt within 15 to 45 minutes.
CBD Tinctures (liquids) are usually taken sublingually (under the tongue) which makes it absorb directly into your bloodstream. With this method you get quicker results by allowing the mucus membranes in your mouth to absorb the compounds. Hold the tincture under your tongue for 60 to 90 seconds before swallowing.

WHAT ARE THE BEST WAYS TO TAKE CBD?

  1. Vaping – is the most effective CBD delivery method. It involves inhaling a vaporized oil preparation.
  2. Capsules – allows the CBD to travel farther down the digestive tract to address tissues deeper in the system.
  3. Sublingual – using a tincture and holding it under your tongue for 45-60 seconds.
  4. Transdermal Topical – This is a patch applied to the skin.
