Today is January 13 – National Sticker Day

National Sticker Day – January 13

A day that is celebrated with … you guessed it – stickers !!

But do you know how this day even came about?

Well it starts with Ray Stanton Avery, who in 1935 developed the self-adhesive label called Kum-Kleen Price Sticker.  His company was called Kum-Kleen Products which later became the Avery Dennison Corp.  And if you’re in business, or like to print labels, or do a lot of mailings, then you should know all about Avery Products.

Ray Stanton Avery died on December 12, 1997.  The “national holiday” celebrating him and the item he helped bring to the public was first celebrated in 2016, and it was done by StickerGiant.  And StickerGiant set the Guinness World Record for the largest ball of stickers, with a sticker ball that weighed 231.6 pounds and was 8.8 feet in circumference.  It was quite a celebration and the rest is history.

So today, national Sticker Day is celebrated on January 13th, and it recognizes all the ways stickers brighten up a page or send a special message.  The day celebrates all things stickers, from the custom printing of them to sharing stickers.

Put them on paper, put them on a book.
Put them on the bumper of your car, or your window.
Or put them on a card to just tell someone you love them.

Stick away my friends – enjoy 🙂
