Prayer | Our Need of Forgiveness and Our Need to Forgive. When you pray to the Lord, you should begin with the prayer given to us by Jesus Christ, as it teaches us how to approach God. Do this with The Lord’s Prayer – the Our Father, where we acknowledge our need of forgiveness and our need to forgive.

“Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.  But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
