Reishi Mushrooms to Build Your Immune System. Cold and flu season is right around the corner. And unfortunately, that corner came a bit too soon for me. Yes – I’ve managed to come down with the flu. Could be worse, could be Covid – and thank you Jesus it was not.

But now that I’ve got the flu bug, it seems like it’s taking an eternity to get back to my normal self. They say the flu can keep you down for 7-10 days, and I will attest that is true.

However, in the meantime. I am doing all I can to help build up my immune system by consuming the right foods with all the necessary nutrients and vitamins A, B, C, D, and Zinc. It hasn’t been easy tho, seeing the cough drops I’ve been sucking on managed to tear up the roof of my mouth. And now it just hurts to eat.

So the other option is SMOOTHIES – and let me tell you I’ve found some really good ones. I’ve made cold busting green smoothies with spinach (for zinc and vitamins A and D), with oranges (for vitamin C), with kale (for vitamin D), and with avocados (for zinc). COLD-FIGHTING CITRUS AND TROPICAL SMOOTHIE

INGREDIENTS
10 oz. Orange Juice
4 oz. Greek Yogurt
1 cup mangoes, frozen
3 tbs of lemon juice
1 banana sliced, frozen
1/2 cup Pineapple Chunks, frozen
2 tbs of honey (optional)
1 tsp Reishi Mushroom Powder

INSTRUCTIONS
Place all ingredients in your blender, and blend until smooth. For a thicker consistency, add ice and blend again.
