Exercise – It Doesn’t Have To Be A Chore

7 Ways to Have Fun Exercising. It’s a topic that really needs to be said because if you dread spending 15-30 minutes working out, then you’re just setting yourself up to quit. You have to add a little fun to it – even if you’re working out by yourself.

This leads me to my first words of advice – don’t compare yourself to other people. If you’re at the gym or working out with a friend, and they’re already fit and tone, don’t be embarrassed and most of all – don’t get discouraged. It took time for these individuals to get in shape. It didn’t happen overnight for them and it won’t happen with you either. You’re your own person and you do you – at your own pace.

7 Ways To Have Fun Exercising

So here we go – 7 Ways to Have Fun Exercising. I especially love number 6 and my music is always jamming loud when I’m in workout mode. Music is my motivation and always gets me moving.

JOIN A CLASS
  1. Exercise with a friend – you can follow their lead, keep up with them if you can, or be with them for companionship. You can talk, walk, and laugh – laughing at yourself if a great way to get through a workout.
  2. Join a class – if being around other people is the way to get you motivated, then do it. Join a yoga class, zumba, or a community class – it’ll be good for you
  3. Exercise without realizing it – instead of riding and escalator or an elevator, take the stairs. Instead of hoping on a bus, walk the 6-8 blocks. If you have dogs – walk them around the block a few times. Did you know housework can burn calories? As well as gardening? Do anything to start moving.
  4. Reward yourself – here’s a really cool idea. For every workout you do, put $1 in a jar. And then at the end of the month use the money to treat yourself to a nice dinner or a new piece of clothing
  5. Download some apps – there are literally thousands of fitness apps you can put on your phone or computer, that can help you stay on track, monitor your workouts, what you eat and how much you drink,
  6. Pump up the volume – crank up the tunes. Make your own playlist with your favorite songs, ones that are upbeat and can really get you motivated and get you up and moving.
  7. Watch your favorite TV show – if you have a treadmill, a cycle machine, or a rowing machine – have a TV nearby and watch your favorite show. You’ll be amazed at how much you can walk, peddle and row during a televised program and how quickly the time will go by.
HOP ON AN ELLIPTICAL BIKE

And there you have it – the 7 Ways To Have Fun Exercising. My only hope is that you make exercising something that you look forward to and set aside those 15-30 minutes a day to do something for you. To not only get in shape but also to better your health.
