5-Minute Healthy Oatmeal Recipe

“You have to eat oatmeal or you’ll dry up. Anybody knows that. ~ Kay Thompson”

One of my favorite quotes because for weeks after my oral surgery, I was literally eating oatmeal and cream of wheat every morning to start my day.

And speaking of starting my day, this brings me to one of my favorite breakfast meals – a combination of Steel Oats and Cream of Wheat. It’s simple and quick and allows for any spice and sweetness to be added. And if your gums have healed to the point of handling semi-solid fruits, you can add a banana or chopped berries.

What’s great about this quick meal is you get your Protein, Vitamin D, Calcium, Iron, and Potassium with every serving. Here are a couple of my personal tips:

  • I always make my oatmeal with a combination of milk (for creaminess) and water.
  • And I double up on the ingredients to make enough for an extra serving as I always seem to be hungry between meals. So I just keep the extra in the fridge to keep it fresh.

So there you go – your 5-Minute Healthy Oatmeal Recipe. And like I said before, if your gums have healed to the point of handling semi-solid fruits, then by all means add some soft fruits to the mix. Enjoy 🙂
