In a separate cup mix together the water, almond milk, and olive oil. Slowly add the liquid to the flour mixture (hold back a bit of liquid in case you don’t need it all). Use a wooden spoon at first, then use your hands to mix the dough together. You want the dough soft – not sticky. (if your dough is too dry – add a splash of more water)

Place your dough ball on a lightly floured work area and kneed until smooth. This should only take a minute. Divide in 2 for 2 small pizzas or keep together for one large 15″.

With your rolling pin, roll out your pizza crust. TIP: I bake my pizza on a pizza stone, and therefore roll the crust directly on top of the lightly floured stone. Makes everything so much easier.

Voila – you now have your Italian herb pizza dough. Now for the goodies. Spoon the pizza sauce over the pizza dough and then add your toppings of choice. Start with a thin layer of cheese, then add some goodies. Our pizza had spinach, black olives, sliced onions, mushrooms, pepperoni, and sliced tomatoes. Top off with some fresh herbs, then a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. Bake for 15 to 17 minutes until golden brown. Slice and serve – simply delish !!

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PIZZA SAUCE AND PASTA SAUCE
Plain and simple – Pizza Sauce is an uncooked tomato sauce, while Pasta Sauce is cooked.
Pizza Sauce is simply puréed tomatoes, seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic, and oregano, which gives the sauce that zippy tomato flavor.
Pasta Sauce is slow-simmered with more herbs like basil and bay leaves. Once cooked it will have a sweet rich flavor. Some pasta sauce is also chunkier, not puréed like pizza sauce.

CAN YOU SUBSTITUTE SPAGHETTI SAUCE FOR PIZZA SAUCE?
You can and I have. Make sure it’s the plain marinara kind with no meat. However, since spaghetti sauce has more water than pizza sauce, I would definitely use a little less
